New agreement for public sector technology buyers now live

A new agreement designed to facilitate the procurement of IT by public bodies in England and Wales is now live.

The Technology Products 2 framework gives public bodies access to products and services provided by 68 IT suppliers, 54% of which are SMEs.

Products and services are available to purchase through any one of six lots and range from basic computer equipment such as PCs, monitors and keyboards, to off-the-shelf software, and products that meet "protective information assurance requirements". The agreement also accounts for potential bulk-purchases of hardware direct from manufacturers as well as low volume, low value acquisitions of technology from an online catalogue.

The Crown Commercial Service said: "The agreement is the result of unprecedented levels of pre-market engagement with customers and suppliers. By listening to their feedback, we have designed a scope and structure which meets the needs of our buyers and suppliers even better than the current agreement."
