Qatar plans a major road building programme and will have 8,500km of highways, 200 new bridges and 30 new tunnels by 2010, according to a local news report.
Qatar's Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will spend QR10 billion (US$2.74 billion) on infrastructure developments at Al Wakra and Mesaieed in the south of the country, the Peninsula newspaper said .
