A US federal law was passed on Friday that seeks to censor
offensive materials from minors and will require public libraries
to install software that blocks pornography from their computers.
However, the law is being challenged by privacy organisation the
American Civil Liberties Union.
ACLU attorney Chris Hansen said, “this is federal censoring of
every single town and hamlet in America.”
The measure introduced by Senator John McCain has been
challenged by the ACLU and the American Library Association said it
was also considering legal action.
