LastMinute.com branches out

OUT-LAW News, 17/07/2001

The UK based on-line service LastMinute.com has purchased on-line initiative UrbanBite.com, which promotes itself as the “one stop click and get food-ordering service”. The UrbanBite.com web site went live in the UK in October 2000 offering customers a convenient food delivery service from a choice of over 450 restaurants in the UK and 100 in the Netherlands.

LastMinute.com has not announced its plans for the future of UrbanBite.com, but the acquisition may provide the company with an opportunity to expand its current booking services. The company has revealed that it will issue 442,151 shares to fund the acquisition and it hopes to complete the deal by 19th July.
