According to news agency Reuters, Napster will be arguing in a
California court the question of how to share with its industry
opponents the burden of monitoring its service to find and remove
the music files forbidden by the March injunction.
Napster argues that it needs file names to find and remove
infringing song files; the record industry contends that it should
only have to provide song titles and artists’ names.
Napster says its new subscription-based service is “mostly built
and in testing.”
