European Commission's Technology Marketplace

OUT-LAW News, 07/02/2002

February has seen the launch of the online Technology Marketplace and open consultation on e-Economy by the European Commission.

To date, the EU has sponsored over 50,000 research projects and the Technology Marketplace aims to provide users with access to the results from these projects, and the latest in scientific and technological innovation in Europe. This interactive multilingual facility targets small to medium sized companies and seeks to encourage innovation to promote success.

In addition, the Commission is promoting the e-economy throughout Europe by opening a consultation period and inviting all areas of business to make contributions.

The Commission is interested in feedback on potential difficulties which businesses see in developing the e-economy, with suggestions for solutions. In addition, it is also looking for comments on areas of policy which businesses consider to be influenced by the e-economy, and ideas on how to address any issues which arise.

The consultation period ends 31st March 2002.
