Employers get help with discipline procedures

OUT-LAW News, 25/03/2003

An on-line learning package to help employers to meet forthcoming requirements for discipline and grievance procedures was launched yesterday by Acas, the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service.

Under the Employment Act 2002 organisations will need to meet a statutory minimum in their discipline and grievance procedures. Organisations need to check that they have, or implement, suitable procedures based on good practice. The web site service aims to help with this.

Acas an independent statutory body which exists to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations.
The obligations in the Act are expected to come into force during 2004.
