A man who showed an Iraqi beheading clip to a hotel worker was
jailed for 60 days yesterday. Subhan Younnis, 23, caused Charlotte
Cray distress when he played the footage on his mobile during a
conversation with her in a shop in Glasgow's Moathouse Hotel last
September, Glasgow district court heard.

Younnis pleaded guilty to a breach of the peace over the
offence. Stipendiary magistrate Euan Edment rejected Younnis claim
that Cray was forewarned that she was about to be shown the
beheading clip. Younnis downloaded the clip from the net prior to
transferring it onto his mobile.
"I struggle to understand why you had images on your phone
entailing the death and degradation of another human being,
regardless of their religion or race," the magistrate told Younnis,
the BBC reports.
"Miss McClay was shocked, upset and distressed by the images. This
is a serious offence and something she will remember for a long
time, perhaps for the rest of her life."
