This qualification, which is aimed at IT professionals and
managers, covers the full spectrum of law which applies to the
current technology environment. The syllabus, which has been
developed for non-legal professionals, includes contracts, privacy
legislation, digital evidence, intellectual property and copyright,
employment, governance and accessibility.
The three day course costs £800, with successful candidates
receiving a recognised ISEB Foundation Certificate in IT Law
qualification.
Six lawyers at the firm behind OUT-LAW.COM have been accredited
to facilitate this course, led by partner Rosemary Jay, an
information law specialist. Jay’s team has already developed an
extensive range of training products during the past six years,
including the highly successful Freedom of Information Act
course.
Jay said:
"IT and law are fundamentally entwined, and
for the IT professional, a basic knowledge of the law is now
required. Ignorance about legal rules can have a devastating effect
on businesses. In some cases companies have found that they do not
have the right to use their own logo or that they do not own the
intellectual property needed to run their own business.
“The three day course can save businesses
unnecessary legal issues and costs, with the extra benefit of a
recognised qualification to ensure quality and high standards of
the training programme."
