About our IP team

Pinsent Masons' experience in intellectual property comes from advising many companies in different sectors, from software developers and e-commerce companies to major financial services companies.

We look at the protection of intellectual property as an integral part of the drafting and negotiation of the agreements with your business partners and customers.

Our eight partner-strong IP group advises on the protection, enforcement and exploitation of all aspects of IP – copyright, trade marks, patents, know-how, registered designs and design rights.

We regularly advise on the IP aspects of due diligence on acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures, in addition to international licensing and collaboration agreements. Working closely with colleagues in our competition team enables us to find practical solutions to these often complex IP issues.

With the benefit of an integrated trade mark service and portfolio management service (run by our in-house Trade Mark Attorneys) we offer a complete trade mark service. We also have a tried-and-tested network of overseas trade mark attorneys that we use in advising clients on trade mark protection and branding issues. Alternatively we are happy to work with a client's existing trade mark attorneys.
