The latest technology from Apple was revealed yesterday at the
Macworld Expo in New York. Among the new developments, Apple
unveiled a new mouse, two G4 PowerMacs equipped with dual
processors and a cube shaped miniature desktop machine.
The power of the first ever PowerMac computers boasting two
processing chips was tested in a graphics demonstration in which
the computers completed a task significantly faster than a machine
operating on a 1Ghz Pentium III chip.
Apple also exhibited its stylish new G4 Cube which comprises an
8” square monitor, smooth surfaces and a cooling vent rather than a
noisier, traditional fan. The Cube should be available from August
at a starting price of $1,799.
However, Apple made no mention of its new operating system,
MacOS X, that has been long expected.
