CD WOW! plans to take £35 million court defeat to Europe Online music retailer CD WOW! will continue its legal fight against the music industry despite a £35 million award against it in the UK courts this week. Bloggers risk the sack, says survey More than a third of employees who keep personal blogs are posting information about their employer, workplace or colleagues and risk dismissal, according to new research. 29/05/2007 http://www.out-law.com/page-8097 4. University warns students over Facebook libel A British university has warned its students that they face disciplinary action if they post messages attacking staff on social networking websites such as Facebook and MySpace. 28/05/2007 http://www.out-law.com/page-8095 5. Tyco fined for overseas transfers of personal data The French data protection authority has fined a subsidiary of US firm Tyco Healthcare over the transfer of employee information across borders and inadequate data safeguards. Multimedia Directive agreed A new European Directive which will regulate television across Europe has been agreed.
