Suppliers in breach of contract may face greater liability after Court of Appeal ruling
A customer's decision to terminate a contract and then to use that contract's
remedies to recover money did not prevent that company also suing for common law
damages over a supplier's failure to fulfil the contract, the Court of Appeal
has ruled.

UK's financial traders to record phone calls, emails from next month
In two weeks' time, firms buying and selling shares, bonds and derivatives will
have to record phone and email exchanges and keep the recordings for six months.

Public sector contract management: OGC to respond to £290m-savings claim
The Government's procurement agency has been asked to respond as early as next
month to National Audit Office accusations that up to £290 million a year is
being wasted because of poor management of public contracts with the private
sector.

Half of Pirate Bay case dropped in courtroom drama
Prosecutors have been forced to drop their more serious charges against
file-sharing links site The Pirate Bay in a dramatic climbdown in the
closely-watched trial in Sweden. Around half the charges have been dropped.

Regulators demand clearer privacy policies
Two-thirds of people surveyed by the UK privacy watchdog want marketing opt-outs
to be clearer, while 62% want a clearer explanation of how personal information
will actually be used. The survey found that 71% did not read or understand
privacy policies.

High Court awards inventors £1.5m for outstanding work
Two researchers have been awarded £1.5 million under a little-used section of
patent law which allows employees extra compensation for inventions which are of
"outstanding benefit" to employers.
