A customer's decision to terminate a contract and then to use that contract's
remedies to recover money did not prevent that company also suing for common law
damages over a supplier's failure to fulfil the contract, the Court of Appeal
has ruled.

file-sharing links site The Pirate Bay in a dramatic climbdown in the
closely-watched trial in Sweden. Around half the charges have been dropped.

Two-thirds of people surveyed by the UK privacy watchdog want marketing opt-outs
to be clearer, while 62% want a clearer explanation of how personal information
will actually be used. The survey found that 71% did not read or understand
privacy policies.

patent law which allows employees extra compensation for inventions which are of
"outstanding benefit" to employers.
