There is nothing "intrinsically unfair" about behavioural advertising but
website operators should offer visitors the option of using their services
without any activity being recorded, privacy watchdog the Information
Commissioner has said.

Commission proposes auto-translation for pan-EU patents
Computer-generated translations should be used to cut the cost of registering a
patent that covers the EU's 27 member states, the European Commission has said.

Contract law reform: European Commission consults
The European Commission has outlined the various ways in which it could change
contract law to encourage cross-border trading within the European Union. The
Commission has published a Green Paper outlining seven kinds of new system the
EU could adopt.

Contract law does not bind 'Part 36' offers to settle, rules Court of Appeal
An offer to settle court proceedings that is made under Part 36 of the Civil
Procedure Rules in England and Wales can still be accepted after it has been
rejected, unless a formal withdrawal has been made, the Court of Appeal has
ruled.
