The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is to be merged with the Competition Commission
(CC) in a Government bid to 'increase the clarity' of competition law

Letter of dismissal took effect on reading, not sending, says Supreme Court
The firing of an employee only took effect when she read the letter informing
her of her dismissal, which was nearly a week after a disciplinary hearing and
four days after the letter arrived at her home, the Supreme Court has ruled.

Ryanair wins ihateryanair.co.uk because of £322 ad revenue
A website criticising airline Ryanair must surrender its domain name to the
Irish carrier because it broke the policies governing the use of others' trade
marks in .co.uk addresses by earning money from commercial links on the site.

MEPs oppose parts of draft Consumer Rights Directive
A proposed EU consumer rights law does not offer consumers enough protection,
MEPs have warned. A committee of the European Parliament has said that the
proposed Consumer Rights Directive should be changed.

ICO consults on draft Data Sharing Code of Practice
Organisations that share personal data with other bodies must make sure their
processes guarantee the fairness, accuracy and security of that information, but
rules can be relaxed for one-off incidents, the UK data protection watchdog has
said.
