Users of the NHS Choices health advice website have details of their activity
sent to Facebook, an online identity company has warned. Information about what
medical information was seen by a user is passed on, said the company, Garlik.

OFT backs replacement of criminal penalties with civil ones
Competition law and consumer watchdog the Office of Fair Trading has welcomed a
legal reform proposal that would reduce its reliance on criminal law but has
said that proposal should be less rigid to allow it to protect consumers.

EU Parliament backs ACTA with few reservations
The European Parliament has welcomed a controversial international intellectual
property treaty as a "step in the right direction" but has reiterated calls for
clarity on the impact of the law on existing EU rights.

ICO issues first ever data protection fines
Privacy watchdog the Information Commissioner has used recently-granted powers
to fine organisations for the first time, imposing a fine of £100,000 on a local
authority and £60,000 on a company.

Online publishers and hosts launch libel reform campaign
Internet publishers and ISPs have joined forces to ask the Government to reform
libel laws to protect the free speech rights of bloggers and commenters and to
strip host companies of liability for libellous statements.

ECJ says courts must assess consumer contract jurisdiction clauses
Courts judging businesses' disputes with consumers must check that a contract's
jurisdiction clause does not clash with European rules on unfair contract terms,
the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has said.
